A School Yard Adventure

It's a beautiful day. The last non-holiday day before schools are back in session. We invited some friends over and went to the school yard for a picnic and some blackberry picking and just a general fun adventure.

Nicky had fun going down the slide.

And then climbing back up it. He actually made it to the top of this at one point. My heart did stop and my friend pulled him down to safety. (Thanks again!)

Then he decided to just hang around for a while.

My friend took these pictures, so I Dani-ized them. This one, not as much.

Alex likes to hang around, too.

And although her friend looks like she's about to get kicked, all children were kept safe on the playground.

Nicky thinks this is funny.

After these pictures were taken, and lunch was eaten, we started picking blackberries. All was fine and good until we met with a very ticked off yellow jacket that bite Nicky and my friend and caused our adventurous party to go running through the woods back to our house. In the end, everyone was ok, which is a good way to end adventures. Next time, though, maybe we'll skip the yellow jacket part.

Except for the yellow jacket part of your adventure, it appears by the pictures that everyone had a fun time at the playground. It's nice that you have it so near your home! What a great way to expend energy and enjoy the company of good friends! I hope our weather holds out so this can be a repeat before winter sets in. Love, Mannah
