A Friend's Wedding

A friend from college got married today. I'm so excited for her! Her husband seems like a very nice guy, and they seem to be very happy. It's very good to see friends so happy. Their wedding was at a state park not too long of a drive from our house. We made a day trip out of it. (A long day, but a fun day.)

We got there about an hour and a half early. We had time to check out the beach. And climb a giant rock.

They had fun checking out the little snails in the pools on the rock. Or the big, big, big 'nails, as Nicky called them.

The view from the top of the rock. Gorgeous.

"I can climb myself!" said in two different ways.

T'was a big, big rock.

And it was fun to stack smaller, yet, still big rocks on it.

It's important to stash rocks in a safe place, so you won't lose them.

We got fancied up and went to the wedding. The kids found a fun game to play while we waited for everything to begin.

If Alex jumped really high, she could get a branch to wiggle and giggle with while Nicky tried to copy her and giggle and wiggle in his own way.

After the wedding, we went to check out the get-away boat.

And Nicky checked the water for jelly fish. Yes, it was a lake. You can't be too careful about these things.

The boat was very fancy.

And the breeze was just enough to make the flags and balloons dance just enough.

And there they go, into the setting sun. Very, very nice.

And then Nicky decided to hug Dave as hard as his little heart demanded. It was quite the hug, and I'm glad to say that they were both ok when it was over.

It was a long day, but a super fun day. And the perfect ending was that both kids fell asleep on the way home! Woo hoo!
