Memorial Day Weekend

It was a beautiful weekend, and we spent most of our time outside. It was perfect. Not too hot, and not too cold. Just right.

We saw this eagle fishing. I think he got a little fish, but you can't tell in this picture.

If there's anything that says summer time more than sandy toes, I'm not sure what it is.

Nicholas is old enough to know how far he can go into the water.
This is about as far as he goes without screaming.

That's Alex exploring on the beach.
There were other people down on the beach with her, even if it doesn't look like it here.

Swing spinning is fun.

They are playing with a little helicopter toy. The kind that looks a bit like a maple tree seed. It's above Alex and is yellow and pink.

Alex checking me out with the b-knock-ears.

Alex got a dancing ribbon. She went outside to try it out as the sun was setting. It was if she'd had a dancing ribbon for ages. She loved it!

She was trying to write her name with the ribbon. I think this is the A.

In case you wondered if she still liked her ribbon the next day, the answer is oh yeah!

Checking out the treasures from the beach walk.
Notice that Nicholas has his head covered in sand. This was deliberate on his part.
No one knows why.

Playing hard all day makes for a good nap.

Sunset.
