It was the last day for soccer for the summer. Alex's class got to pick what games they wanted to play. They played Buffaloes in Grandma's Garden, Bugs in the House, and the Ice Cream Game. This was rainbow ice cream that she was bringing over to show us.
The last game they played Alex called "Scribble", but the coaches didn't understand what she was asking for. Then she tried "Scrabble," and it still took awhile for them to understand she meant "Scrimmage". Which they then did. And it was as awesome as the scrimmage last weekend!
Alex got the ball and carried it up the field to the goal. Some kids ran with her, but mostly, they just kept her company. They might have tried to take the ball away, but Alex wasn't having any of that.
Another goal! Go Alex! After this goal, they switched the positions around so that the other kids would have a chance to play more. They put Alex on the wing, and honestly, she still tried to make goals! The girl loves soccer!
Nick doesn't seem to love his soccer class as much as Alex, at least not at the beginning of the class. Once he gets going, though, he has fun. This was a game that involved Nick kicking the ball at Dave's feet.
There's a lot of downtime in Nick's class, while the coach explains the next game to the parents. The kids sit on their soccer balls, and it's very sweet.

What a treat to watch the children play soccer! I loved the sly, proud, "I did it!" smiles that Alexandra had after making each of her goals! She's good, and her love of the game is obvious. She played even though her foot was so sore. I was impressed with her hop, skip, jump, and high energy get it done running. As for Nicholas, he's only 3, yet he already shows promise at the game. And the cheering bunch on the hill? A total hoot! I send my love. Mannah
