Alex has been counting the days until Easter for about two weeks now. Yes, she was this excited. Most of the day, actually. Imagine this, but with more jumping up and down, you know, as though she was sugar powered.
Nick was a bit more laid back. He was pretty excited that the Easter Bunny brought him a new spinny thing. (And yes, Nick is wearing Christmas pajamas. These are his "snowman jammies" and they are his favorite and his best. And he's going to wear them as much as he can before they get too small.)
Then, they got down to the egg hunting business. They found all the eggs, eventually. Then the eggs were emptied of their sugary centers and we hid them again. And again. And again. Four egg hunts were carried out this morning alone. (Add to that the three more egg hunts they had today, and it'll make your head spin.)
They went outside to see if the Easter Bunny left footprints this year. There were footprints through the carport, but not in the driveway. You know, because of the rain and all.
And Nick looked very handsome. It was a good day. Very busy, what with all the egg hunts and all. You'd think that the kids would have been tired enough from their busy day and cozy enough (since we took pajamas for them to wear on the way home), that they'd fall asleep on the way home. But that would be underestimating the kids. They stayed away until we got home, and then needed to make their beds just right and once that was done, they crashed and crashed hard. But it was still a great day.
