So Dave had a birthday, and so did his Mom, so we had everyone over for dinner and some cake. Bam helped the kids put candles on the cake. They used 40, since Dave is now 40. It wasn't a very big cake. (We do have a fire extinguisher, just in case you were wondering.)
Look at Dave, sitting there so calmly, while a cake that is bright enough to light up the whole kitchen is heading his way.
Nicky was singing loudly, through his giggles.
The candles were melting in strange ways. It was funny. At this point, the ice cream was melting, too. (Just kidding. Maybe.)
Everyone chipped in to blow out the candles.
Maybe we needed a bigger cake. Like a sheet cake?

After dessert, we ran outside to decorate the Easter tree!
Nicky can reach the higher branches now. Although, he also figured out how to let go of that branch, causing the egg to fling across the yard. Silly boy!

Every year, to celebrate the decorating of the Easter tree, the kids run around the tree many times. Like a million times, according to Nicky.
