Skiing, Take One

We were going to all go skiing today. We went to the store to rent skis for the kids, and Nick lost it. Too much excitement in the last couple of days. Poor little guy. He was upset about just about every step of the rental process in every way a three year old can be upset that doesn't involve cleaning up afterwards. In the end, we decided that he wouldn't get to go today, and that he and I would stay home and try to have some quiet time and see if we could get him into a better mood so we could try again tomorrow. Dave took Alex up to the mountain, because she was awesome during the rental process and Nick's meltdown and she really, really was wanting to go skiing.

When they got up there, Alex was an awesome listener and got really good at skiing by herself. They even went up a chairlift a couple of times and she went down without much trouble.

She got to use poles this year, and learned to turn and snow plow and stop without falling. All very cool things to know about skiing.

She worked so hard on skiing, that sometimes she would just take a break in the middle of the mountain. It's a lot of work, skiing, but also a lot of fun!
