Playing in the Rain

It was a rainy afternoon, but the kids had too much energy to be inside. So we went out and played in the rain. (Playing in the rain is a LOT warmer than having swimming lessons in the rain!)

Nicholas thought he'd stay dry by riding around in his car.

BUSTED!!
He was popping all the unripe blueberries! Silly boy!

Alex took over in Nick's car to stay dry while she got some new pictures.

Pop rockets are so funny!

Alex checking out the pond.

Nicholas "fwimming"in the rain, and Alex taking pictures of him.

It started raining harder, and the kids decided they were as wet and cold as they wanted to get, so we came inside for a snack. Their energy is a much better level for being inside now. Whew.

It's a sure thing that children growing up in this part of the country absolutely have times of playing or swimming in the rain. Nicholas popping all the unripe blueberries reminds me of when Kevin was about Alexandra's age and he picked the little green apples off the tree for as high as he could reach: "I help, Momma!" I recall telling him that next time apples needed to be picked, we'd do it together! At any rate, your photos are full of fun in the rain--true NW style. Love, Mannah
